Mr Christopher Short Weekly Update 27.05.2016

Year 7 - 9 were lucky enough to meet Hollywood actor Paul Blackthorne this week and discuss the topic of Rhino poaching. Although this is an important topic I also find the wider concept fascinating. Essentially the campaign against rhino poaching is a lesson in the importance of education. Educating people on the fallacy of the effects of rhino horn will be the most effective way of stopping this trade. Once people know that rhino horn has no scientific effect on human beings they will stop buying the product and therefore the trade will stop.

I am in Hong Kong this week at the Nord Anglia global headquarters. We have continued the theme of the importance of education on global themes. As I often mention education is so much more than top class examination results and issues such as Rhino poaching, climate change and global conflict remind us of this. At BIS we are confident we are educating future leaders who will take on this challenge.

Exams continue this week and we have internal exams next week so good luck to all students.
