  • Building Development Update

I am pleased to report that all the building developments that we undertook over the summer holidays have been completed, or are very nearly completed. I have already received several positive comments from parents and other visitors who have seen the school about the work we have undertaken. However, we still have further  plans to enhance the look of the  school over the next few weeks and are already planning further projects in the coming years. BIS Hanoi does not stand still!

  •  Communication

A major priority for us as a school this year is to develop and improve communication within the BIS community. This will be a continuous process throughout the year which we will work hard at. Initially, to help with this, we have developed a “BIS Mobile App” which parents can download onto their mobile devices. This App pulls together all our communication avenues (Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, Website etc) into one area and will allow parents to have regular updates on school news. You will receive further details on how to download and use this App next week. We also want to encourage parents to be more involved in experiencing school life at BIS Hanoi. We will give parents more opportunities to come into school and see what and how their children are learning. Additionally, we want to create more social events for the school community and I sincerely hope that parents will join with us to make these events a great success.

  •  Juilliard Music Programme:

As you are aware Nord Anglia Education are in partnership with the most respected and famous performing arts  school in the world – Juilliard School New York (www.juilliard.edu). I announced last term  that following an analysis by both  NAE and Juilliard that BIS Hanoi will integrate into a special Juilliard performing arts programme from August 2016 onwards. Ms Laura Rea our Performing Arts Leader at BIS Hanoi attended a Professional Development course at Juilliard School New York over the summer holiday. The aim of the course was to prepare us for the implementation of the Juilliard programme and now that the year is under way the programme has already started.  In October we have our first visit from a Juilliard Alumni when Mr. Paul Murphy a very talented Trombonist will be with us. He will spend two days at the school working with the school community.
