Dear Parents,

Our teachers and teaching assistants have been back at school now for a couple of weeks but it has been really strange without the children! Therefore, it was wonderful to welcome everyone back to BIS on Wednesday for our new school year. This year, we have four additional classes in our Primary so I would like to give a special welcome to our many new families and new staff.

For this half term, we are concentrating on ‘Caring’ from our Aide Memoire characteristics. In the primary diaries, which I hope you have all received now, you will see our new superheroes. Our superhero for caring is Captain Care so we’ll be finding out how he can help us to remember to care about each other, our belongings and our school. I would like to encourage parents to share with us any good examples of caring seen outside the school day.

There are many new initiatives in school this year and lots of exciting things to share with parents so I would like to invite parents on the following dates to our Meet the Teacher sessions:

September 5th:     Phase 2 (Year 2, 3 and 4)
September 8th:    Phase 3 (Year 5 and 6)
September 15th:    EYFS and Phase 1 (Foundation Stage 1, 2 and 3 and Year 1)

I look forward to meeting you all at one of these meetings which will start at 3:30 pm.

Ms Sue Hill, Head of Primary
