Big Stadium Atmosphere

The British International School Hanoi was rocking to the sound of student music today, as the Battle of the Bands raged. Our new stadium seating provided a legendary atmosphere and provided the perfect stage for our talented guitarists, singers and drummers.

Moon Festival Assembly

It was my pleasure to host the Moon Festival Assembly on Wednesday. Thank you to all parents who attended. Traditionally, the festival was a time when parents returned from the harvest fields and enjoyed time playing with their children. Consequently, the festival is sometimes known as the mid-harvest or children’s festival. It was very fitting, therefore, that so many of our busy working parents were able to take the time to come and celebrate with their children.

The children’s performances were full of vitality, great beauty and overwhelming joy. For our new international staff, the experience was an extraordinary one. Often, when two or more cultures come together, something new and wonderful is created. This is one of the great advantages of belonging to an international school community.

Progress Check Tests

Year 13 and Year 11 students should have been revising for a couple of weeks now. Their latest round of tests will begin on Monday 16 October. Please encourage your children to revise for these exams. Their result in this test is less important than the process of revision. Every revision session completed now will add to the foundation of knowledge and skills that will be called upon in the final exams in May and June of 2018. If children feel behind or overwhelmed, encourage them to plan some small sessions (five or six 30 minute sessions spread across the weekend). Just starting the process can create a feeling of optimism for a struggling student.

Curriculum Questionnaire: Parents of children in Year 6, 7, 8 and 9 only

Thank you to parents from Year 6, 7, 8 and 9, who were asked to fill in the curriculum questionnaire. We have had over 100 responses. The questionnaire will remain open over the weekend and will close on Sunday evening. If you have not filled in the questionnaire and would like to do so, the links are below.
