Putting BIS Hanoi on the Map!

Geographers from across SE Asian FOBISIA schools came to British International School Hanoi last Friday to collaborate and share innovative and best teaching practice at our inaugural JAWS event (Job Alike Workshops).

The focus was to share a range of exciting teaching and learning strategies, as well as methods to help students achieve the highest grades in examinations, combined with ways to include the latest technology into our learning programmes of study. We then split into smaller groups to focus on areas that interested us the most, ranging from: curriculum design; how to complete the Secondary Geography Quality Mark to be accredited by the Geographical Association of the UK; making links between the Primary and Secondary Sections in Geography; how we can aspire to inspire the next generation of World Leaders to Be Ambitious in their pursuit to becoming participating Global Citizens in an ever increasingly globalised world. What an exhausting but fantastic weekend it was too!

Thank you to all who attended and all who made it a success!

Jim Schofield, Subject Leader for Geography
