Dear Parents,

This morning provided a chance for our Year 5 students to present to parents and demonstrate their learning and knowledge of the science topic, Space. I thoroughly enjoyed discussing topics such as the Space Race, solar and lunar eclipses, the possibility of life on other planets and ethical issues behind sending animals into space. Plenty of activities were on offer for parents and other visitors: painting abstract space art in the style of Peter Thorpe, answering quizzes after presentations and making rockets were some of those I participated in. Congratulations and thank you, Year 5 - my only complaint was that there wasn’t enough time to do everything!

Year 3 children visited the Tam Dao Bear Sanctuary on Tuesday to see first-hand the success story for those bears which have been rescued. In assembly, Year 3 shared a short video of their visit and said thank you once again to those children who helped to raise the incredible amount of money, 20,802,000 VND, for the bear sanctuary. In assembly, we also heard about the Primary Student Council’s visit to the SOS Village to deliver some of the shoeboxes and donations of rice. The rest of the shoeboxes were collected by representatives of the Rice Scholarship who visited the Student Council last week to share more information about their organization. To find out more why not read Ms Tong’s report.  Ms. Elliott then told us about a special Saturday event which is being planned for March 25th. Children from the SOS Village will be invited to British International School Hanoi for a fun day and we would love to have lots of children here to play games and join with our new friends. More details will follow next week.

I hope to see lots of parents in school next Wednesday for our Shared Learning. Please contact Ms. Hung in the Primary Office if you have not received information or you need further details.
