Global Citizens caring for each other

1B gave a very strong message in their assembly today with Ms. Caroline about how we can care for each other. Thinking carefully about the words we use and the impact they have others is really important. 1B taught us that by saying kind and caring things to each we build each other up and make people feel strong and happy.

Caring is the theme of our assemblies this half term and the children in Primary have been learning a lot about caring for each other with the help of Captain Care. We have also spent time thinking and learning about how we care for our environment, for animals and our school. Captain Care is our superhero and it is wonderful seeing our youngest children role model this for us.

Global Connections

Being part of the Nord Anglia group means that we have the opportunity to connect with other schools around the world. Year 4 this week had the exciting opportunity to link up with our sister school in Jakarta.

Having decided on a set of questions beforehand, the children welcomed their new friends from Indonesia – Carmen, Nikos, Lena, and Kingston – into our digital classroom.

Despite going to school in Jakarta, the children hailed from America, Holland and the Czech Republic respectively.

They discovered that although they are living in different countries they have a lot in common – be it the subjects they learn, the food they eat or the hobbies they enjoy.

The meeting went so well that the children have agreed to keep sharing learning through Global Campus on line.

Global Campus

Ms Tong and her team of helpers launched the Global Campus to our Primary students today in assembly. Year 6 children shared what the Global Campus is about, competitions and connect with other children across the 46 school in Nord Anglia.  Please look out for the exciting events coming up in the year ahead!

Wishing you all wonderful weekend and we look forward to seeing you at the Moon Festival Assembly on Wednesday.

Mrs Rebecca Carroll, Head of Primary
