Mathematics Leader

After studying chemistry at Strathclyde University, John was a deputy team leader for Scottish Power Energy Sales division. He then studied for a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics and began teaching at the Kingsway school, a specialist in mathematics, computing and training.

John has worked as a volunteer for the Citizens Advice Bureau, St. John’s Ambulance, the London 2012 Olympics and as a teacher at the Kingsway Kolweny school in Kenya.
John likes to take a holistic view of everything and believes that a successful teacher of mathematics and numeracy must also be a teacher of how to learn, how to communicate and how to understand and contribute to the world around us. He likes to learn new sports, is interested in food and nutrition, and likes trying to play tennis.
