    Sian Orchard

    Sian started her teaching career in 2006 in Dubai. On her return to the UK she worked in several schools including time spent as Head of Chemistry and Head of Science.

    She has also worked extensively for the examination board, Edexcel and has done publishing work as well. Sian continues to be enthusiastic about her subject and enjoys creative chemistry. She also enjoys scuba diving, foreign travel, reading and exercise. Sian joined BIS Hanoi in August 2013.

    Edward Westropp

    Edward began his teaching career in 2006, initially teaching science at St Michael’s RC Secondary School in London as part of the Teach First programme, before taking the role of deputy head of the science department at the school. He then moved to San Andres in Buenos Aires where he taught science and IB biology as well as travelling extensively in South America. This was followed by 2 years in the UK working as an aspiring AST at the London Academy before moving to BIS Hanoi. His main interests include sport in which he has developed a particular passion for cycling since moving to Hanoi, both listening to and playing music and also travelling the world to experience its different cultures, scenery and wildlife.

    Adrian Duckett

    Adrian has spent the first four year of his teaching career at Outwood Grange Academy UK as a teacher of Physics, he has experience of running extra curricular clubs ranging from Electronics to Astronomy. 

    Adrian is passionate about the awe and wonder generated by science and has designed an array of experiments he uses in his day to day teaching. In his previous post Adrian was part of the Deep Experience team tasked with managing enrichment activities across the academy and generating sustainable links with international partner schools.
    In his free time Adrian enjoys keeping fit, riding a motorbike, rock climbing and seeking new experiences.

    Hannah Bradford

    Hannah graduated as a Marine Biologist in 2007 and went on to work as a Recruitment Consultant for Scientific staff.  She completed her PGCE in Science at Sunderland University before teaching in an outstanding school in Newcastle for four years. During this time she also mentored other trainee teachers, took part in many school projects, trips and initiatives and gained experience in the role of Second in Department. Hannah moved to Mexico City in 2013 with her fiancée Tom where she taught IBDP Biology for two years. Deciding to take the opportunity to travel at the end of their contracts they set off on a round the world trip where Hannah got to visit the Galapagos Islands, the dream for all Biologists! She maintains a passionate interest in environmental issues and scientific developments and supports numerous charities worldwide. As a Maine Biologist Hannah takes every opportunity to enjoy the ocean through swimming and diving.

    Nicola qualified as a teacher in the UK in 2008 and worked in a large outer London school, gaining experience as Head of Biology. She spent the last four years working in an international school in Beijing, China, during which time she gained experience as Head of Science. In her free time she enjoys travelling and reading.

    Tim Lovatt

    Tim worked in the Wind Energy industry for 6 years before transferring his engineering experience to the classroom. Before joining BIS Hanoi he worked at a large school in inner London, UK where he ran science and STEM clubs, trips and challenges and was involved in a wide range of enrichment projects, as well as being a founding member of the 'Technology for Education' team.

    Tim's main aim in any school is to share the passion and enthusiasm he feels for science with his students which he does both in and out of lessons. 
    Outside of school he enjoys travelling, cooking, cycling and football, and is trying to learn Vietnamese!
