Jo Prabhu

Head of Primary

I grew up in Manchester and from the age of 7 had wanted to become a teacher. After finishing high school, I went to University in York and graduated with a BA in Music with Qualified Teacher status. My first teaching post was in Milnrow, Rochdale as a Year 1 teacher, with responsibility for ICT and modern foreign languages. I throroughly enjoyed working with the great children at the school and enjoyed seeing the progression pupils made.

I decided to move to an international school to have the opportunity to work with pupils from around the world and moved to British International School of Washington in 2008. I have been a Reception and Nursery class teacher and love the IPC curriculum and how it enables pupils to make connections. My current role is the Head of Primary at the school, with responsibility for learning and progress in the Primary school and leading the IPC curriculum.
