I have always had a keen interest in science and became a high school science technician in 1995 after completing a science course at college. I then spent over 18 years as a high school science technician at a school in Liverpool UK. My family and I took the decision to re-locate to Washington DC after my husband accepted a teaching job at British Interntional School of Washington. I was very fortunate that an opening for a science technician also became available around the same time and I am happy that I have been given the opportunity to put my experience to good use in a new setting. After spending all of my life in the same city and spending 18 years in the same job, this has been a big move for me! This is proving to be an exciting adventure and an excellent opportunity for both myself and my family.
I enjoy listening to rock music and love going to concerts whenever I get the chance. As I am a big Liverpool FC fan I also like to follow football (soccer) and have become a baseball fan since attending my first Washington Nationals game last year! I have two children and I have enjoyed seeing the sights of Washington, DC with my family since we arrived here. I hope to see a lot more of the USA during our time here.
British International School of Washington is an excellent place to work. Staff here are very friendly and have made myself and my family feel very welcome since we arrived. The children at the school are extremely polite and confident and I have been impressed by their approach to learning. The school does a fantastic job of encouraging the children to be the best that they can be in all that they do.
