Mark Minghella

Head of ICT

I was born and raised in Liverpool, where I attended ST Columba’s Primary school and then St. Edward’s College for my GCSEs and A-Levels.  After that, I went to Liverpool Hope to study for my degree and PGCE.  I have been teaching for 20 years around Merseyside, Warrington, Manchester and the Wirral in a variety of schools ranging from 6th Form Colleges to secondary schools, with the last 13 years in Head of ICT roles.

I am a self-confessed geek and love all things technical including gadgets and video games and I hope to pass this enthusiasm on to students at the British International School of Washington, DC.  I am enjoying working at BISW and getting to know the staff, pupils and parents.  My aims for ICT are to transform the way in which students learn and to help the pupils to become discerning users of ICT; in other words, to know WHENWHY and  HOW to use ICT to get the best results.
