Scott Rogers

Physical Education Teacher

Born and raised in Kent, South-East England, I spent a large proportion of my teenage years playing basketball for the London Towers. After several years of playing for the junior teams (U16's - U20's) and training with the Men's professional team I decided to embark upon a career where I could make a positive difference in other people's lives.

For the next two years I worked three jobs which included being: a Personal Trainer at a college; a sports teacher at an alternative curriculum school; and a youth basketball coach. These experiences led me to study 'Physical Education, Sports and Exercise Science' at Canterbury Christ Church University where I achieved my First class degree. Meanwhile, I continued building upon my sports teaching experience by continuing to coach basketball, teaching Sports Leader Award courses, and volunteering at various schools.

On finishing my degree I completed my PGCE at my alma mater in 2012. Since then I have been teaching Physical Education at a Secondary School in South London.

Outside of school, I am a fitness enthusiast, which includes going to the gym, kayaking, playing basketball, rugby and any other sport that's going.

Both my Wife and I are excited to begin this next stage in our lives in Washington, DC and are looking forward to being part of British International School of Washington's outstanding school community.
