Year 2 Week Ahead Information

An overview of the week ahead in Year 2

  • Year 2 are busy working hard

Information and Reminders.

Thank you very much for making sure your children are coming to school with the appropriate uniform for the colder days. It has been lovely to see the Year 2 students looking after their gloves, scarves and coats and making sure they keep them safe in their lockers if they don’t need them.

The Infant Christmas Show is fast approaching and we are all very excited to share our exciting production ‘Lights, Camel, Action!’ with you all on the 12th and 13th December. We will need all costumes in school by 7th December at the latest.

On the 14th December, we will be hosting a Primary School Reading Workshop. It will be a fantastic opportunity to learn about how to share books with your children, ask appropriate and challenging questions and, most importantly, make reading a fun and accessible part of your daily family lives. There will be separate workshops for different age groups and there will be opportunities to ask any questions you may have to our teaching staff. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Wednesday 14th December.

This week your child has received their Topic homework, this is a longer project and should be returned to school on Monday 12th December.

We will look at board games and how they are played. We will then start to create our own, thinking about different ways we can make the game exciting. What questions could you use? Will there be any consequences? How will you win the game? We will then evaluate our board games offering suggestions to each other; can we make improvements to our games?
