Watch Me Grow!

It all began when some tadpoles arrived in the setting and we made initial observations as to what they could be. Day by day, we were so excited to see what changes were occurring and how the tadpoles were developing. Slowly but surely, the tadpoles started to evolve and grew legs. Two legs quickly became four legs and very soon we had our own family of frogs!

Then we were sent a mysterious parcel in the post. Inside were a collection of leaves and very small eggs. We researched what the eggs could be using lots of information books and discovered they were caterpillar eggs. Every day we checked until at last, we saw lots and lots of caterpillars. Day by day, we have been feeding the caterpillars mulberry leaves as they have been so hungry! We have been observing lots of holes appearing on the leaves and the caterpillars are getting bigger and bigger by the day.

We have also been doing lots of gardening and planting our very own bean seeds. After reading Jack and the Beanstalk, we decided that we would like to try and grow a plant up to the clouds. It took a few days and then we began to see a green shoot. We then moved the plants into the sunlight and they grew and grew. We measure them every day and check to see if they need any water. Whilst they might not reach up to the clouds just yet, they continue to grow higher and higher….
