End-of-Year Message

Our very first year as NAIS Pudong has come to an end, with our students finishing school at 12 noon with one of my personal favourite traditions – the goodbye wave to say a final farewell for the summer. There were hugs and tears, as some students said their final goodbyes, but also lots of excitement for the adventures and travel that lie ahead over the summer.

This year has seen the introduction of the Juilliard-Nord Anglia Performing Arts Programme at school and some fantastic musical and drama performances as well as visits from Juilliard musicians; we have had great success on the sports field and in the pool, with the NAIS Pudong Tigers and Tiger Sharks certainly roaring their way through the year; and we have celebrated as a community at many wonderful events.

While students and staff enjoy a very well-earned holiday, our school will remain open with the NAIS Pudong Summer School starting next Monday, and important renovations and upgrades happening across the campus. Our Operations team will be hard at work converting our pool from 5 to 6 lanes and installing diving blocks. The main field will see the installation of floodlights to enable us to hold late afternoon and evening training sessions and our Early Years canteen and sports hall are being renovated. We will keep you posted on the progress throughout the summer and look forward to showing you the upgrades when you return.

Our Year 13 IB students and Year 11 IGCSE students will receive their all-important results during the holiday and we will share these with you as well.

Enjoy the summer, stay safe and I look forward to seeing you next term.

Mrs Lesley-Ann Wallace
Principal

For Your Viewing Pleasure

One of the major highlights of this year was the school production of Beauty and the Beast, with two casts performing the classic musical over four nights in March. We were so proud not only of the amazing actors and dancers, but also of our talented young musicians who performed in the pit band. The students, led by Director of Music and the Arts, Mr Phillip Bailey, Head of Drama, Mr Sam Bradshaw, and Mrs Louisa Bailey, rehearsed for months for the production and the shows were a sell-out success.

We are very pleased to be able to send you the link to download both casts’ versions of the play and hope you enjoy some family time watching the show again over the summer. Download the videos: Cast 1 and Cast 2.

Our very first NAIS Pudong cap and gown graduation ceremony saw this year’s cohort of 50 students gather for a formal celebration in the Auditorium on Friday 20th May. The formal ceremony included speeches and presentation of graduation certificates. We are very proud of the students and look forward to sharing their IB results with you soon. In the meantime, you can download a video with snippets of the evening here.
