Overview of Learning
This week the children have enjoyed planting sunflower seeds and thinking about the equipment and resources needed to do this. They helped to set up an experiment to investigate how water travels to the different parts of the plant and have observed the flowers changing colour throughout the week. Next week we will introduce our new focus story, ‘The Little Red Hen’. We will use a story map to orally retell the story using actions and set up a small world play to support story telling. The children will have the opportunity to learn about eggs, where they come from and the life cycle of a hen. Our maths focus next week will be on sharing quantities and solving problems such as sharing the picnic food.
