The penultimate week of the school year has been a busy and exciting one! Our Year 12 students started the week with their Group 4 Project for the IB Diploma and completed research investigations using the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals as their starting point. We saw one group design their ideal bike for a bike sharing scheme; several groups worked on improving water qualities in developing rural areas and another group designed and made their own scented stress balls. Overall their presentations were very inspiring and very impressive.

This week we also received our YCT results and we’d like to congratulate all of the students on a 100% pass rate! We look forward to celebrating these results and other academic achievements in our Awards Assembly taking place next Wednesday morning. We hope to see you all there!

This week all parents of students in Years 10 and 11 should have received a letter regarding the annual Global Campus Expedition to Tanzania. We are delighted to be able to open up this trip to students in Year 11 next year as well as Year 12. Please complete the Jotform if you are interested in your child participating.

This week we have had some students and staff out of school participating in Nord Anglia events. Mrs Malcolm-Severn has accompanied six of our students to Les Martinets in the Swiss Alps where the students have participated in trekking and other outdoor activities. Additionally, Mr Dolan and Mr Raye have been lucky participants at a professional development week at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. We look forward to hearing all of their updates when they return to school next week.

Today has been Transition Day for the Year 6 students. They have had a fun-filled day learning in Design Technology, Art, Science and Drama lessons. We look forward to welcoming them to the Secondary School formally in August.

Next week we will be hosting a series of events in which the students can work with each other to put their classroom learning into a different context.  The Collaboration Days are so named because they offer students an occasion to collaborate with each other, across year groups, and they offer activities in-line with NAE's three major collaborations: Juilliard, MIT and the UN. Details were sent earlier this week with specific information about each day. We are excited to see this learning come to fruition!

Best wishes,

Therese Andrews and Carol Camargo
