Choosing a new school is one of the most important decisions a parent can make. For Alaa Maayta, it came down to finding a place that felt both caring and focused, a place where his child would be more than just a number.
“What I’ve seen in Amman Academy is that it’s not just a building or classrooms… it’s the teachers that you have. It’s the management, the principal, the educators… they are the ones who set the tone.”
His first impressions were shaped by what he saw on campus. “The first thing that caught my attention was how engaged the teachers were. Every student was participating. Every student was being looked after. That’s when I knew we had made the right choice.”
As a parent who joined the Amman Academy community more recently, Alaa brings a fresh lens. While many families have been part of the school for years, he offers insight into what it feels like to step into the school for the first time, and the kind of reassurance that new families often need.
“From the minute I drop my kids in the morning, right until I receive them at home, they are within a family,” he says. “We love that.”
It is more than just a feeling. Alaa noticed the way teachers communicate with families, follow up quickly, and stay ahead of issues. “They talk to the parents… they come with the solution before the problem.”
That confidence extends to the students too. “My kids never said, ‘I don’t want to go to school.’ I drop them off every morning. They are happy. We are having a laugh in the car… and they come back home happy as well.”
This sense of ease was exactly what he had hoped to find. “What I am looking for is an environment where kids feel comfortable, feel that they are being looked after. A family atmosphere,” he says. “And this is what Amman Academy is delivering.”
Alaa’s reflections echo something heard often across the school community: that the academicrigour, impressive results, and reputation are all important, but they mean far less if students do not feel supported. At Amman Academy, those foundations of care and connection come first.
For parents still in the process of choosing a school, Alaa offers quiet reassurance. “What I’ve seen here is real. The environment, the culture, the care — it’s all there. And you’ll see it from day one.”
