FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQS)

  • How long does the admissions process take?
From the moment you get in touch with us to when your child receives a place, our admissions process can – in some cases – only take a few weeks. Timings do vary, though, as each family’s application journey is different. Please speak to our admissions team to find out more.
  • Do you accept all nationalities?
At Amman Academy, we welcome all nationalities. As well as being incredibly proud of our local heritage, culture, and language, we’re thrilled that students from more than 15 countries currently call our school home.
  • Will my child need to sit an entrance exam?

Yes, your child will need to sit an entrance exam as part of our admissions process. They’ll also join us for an interview. We offer slots between 8:30 am and 2:00 pm Sunday-Thursday or between 9:30 am and 1:00 pm on Saturdays. We ask that you come along with your child, too.

To find out more, please get in touch with our admissions team or visit our entry requirements page.

  • I have younger children - do siblings get priority?
Yes, we give priority to siblings of current students, as long as they meet our admissions requirements. For example, if there are two applicants and only one place, the child who has a sibling at our school will have priority.
  • Where is the school located?
Our safe and secure campus is situated in Khalda, a prime location in the west of Amman. Our full address is: Amman Academy, Sulayman Abd Al Qadir As Sukkari Street, Amman-Khalda, PO Box 840, Zip Code 11821.
  • What curricula do you teach?

From kindergarten through to grade 12, every student follows the International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum of programmes: the Primary Years (PYP), Middle Years (MYP), and Diploma (IBDP).

The IB continuum is academically rigorous and respected around the world. Each programme is also packed with character-forming learning experiences that nurture critical thinking, spark creativity, and build resilience. This creates well-rounded individuals who not only achieve fantastic Diploma results, but also flourish as people.

  • What languages do you teach in?
Amman Academy is a truly bilingual school. We teach in both English and Arabic, ensuring our students become fluent dual-language communicators. Bilingualism also cultivates a deep cultural appreciation, nurturing respectful citizens who are ready for success in our globalised world.
  • What size are your classes?
Our class sizes vary by age group. Our average teacher to student ratio of just 1 to 8 is one of the lowest in Jordan. This gives our teachers the time and space to get to know your child, identify and nurture their strengths, and provide the right level of support and challenge.
  • Which universities do your students go to?
Our students’ Diploma success takes them to the very best universities in the world. Many secure prestigious scholarships, too, which reflects our reputation for educational excellence in Jordan – and the world. Recent graduates have gone on to study at Cambridge, Yale, Stanford, Princeton and MIT.
