Community Profile - Mac Dulin
Each week we will feature a member of our community across all areas of the school including students, teachers, parents, support staff and more, to get to know members of our family a little better. If you would like to be featured, please email: newsletters@bisad.ae.

Name and a little bit about you:

Hi, I’m Mac. You’ve probably seen me in the clinic rooms, in front of the reception or have spoken with me on the phone bugging you about PCR’s or telling you that your child needs to be sent home, but most of the time I’m in the main clinic taking care of the students who are not feeling well or have hurt themselves.

Where is “home” for you?

For me home is where you can feel secure with whomever you are with. It is where you can be the best version of yourself and be confident about what you are doing.

What do you do in Abu Dhabi?

I’ve been working as a School Nurse here in BIS Abu Dhabi for almost 4 years and I must say that this is probably the most amazing community that I have been apart of.

What brought your family to Abu Dhabi?

I didn’t plan on moving to Abu Dhabi at first, but the doors of opportunity opened for me and my soon to be wife, so we decided that it’s best for us to be here together.

Tell us something that few people know about you:

My close friends call me Macky. I come from the vibrant city of Valenzuela in the Philippines, where I grew up with my parents and two younger siblings. It is a city known for being one of the safest places to live in the Philippines which gives me peace of mind knowing that my family is safe even when I’m away from them. I spend my free time watching movies, reading, or playing games.

What is your favourite thing about being a part of the BIS Abu Dhabi community?

My favourite thing about the BIS Abu Dhabi community is that everyone is encouraged to participate in events and activities which makes it fun for everybody.

What tips or advice would you give to new families joining BIS Abu Dhabi?

I think the best advice that I can give for new families joining BIS Abu Dhabi is to seize every opportunity to join and immerse in the programmes and activities offered in school which help the students, parents and staff interact with each other and come together as a community.

What do you enjoy most about living in Abu Dhabi?

The food. Most of the restaurants here in Abu Dhabi are mouth-watering and getting a chance to taste it first hand is such a treat. Also, as this is my first time working abroad, I have enjoyed meeting people from different countries and learning things about their culture.
