OUR SOCIAL PURPOSE

Our students have the power to change the world. And while they’re at BIS HCMC, we’ll empower them to do exactly that. Through integrated social impact projects, global collaborations, and hands-on community action, your child will make a real difference in school, locally, and across the world.

PROTECTING OUR PLANET

Social and environmental impact projects inspire our students to think about the challenges facing our planet – and take action to address them.

One student-led UNICEF initiative, Precious Plastics – which upcycles single-use plastic into products to sell and reuse – was awarded a Nord Anglia grant for its impact on plastic waste. Our students also take part in global sustainability competitions, including Global Social Leaders.

We’re proud of our uniform upcycling project, too. Involving our whole community, old and unwanted items are transformed into cushion covers, mascots, and tote bags, which we sell to raise money for our community partners.

A STRONG COMMUNITY

We have a strong sense of community at BIS HCMC. Our students, staff, parents, and local partners are one family, where everyone respects one another and works towards shared goals.

Through collaborations with local NGOs, our students affect real social change. They raise awareness through activities and events and generate funds to meet community needs. Our clubs are regularly involved with local schools and partners, sharing knowledge and resources and building a stronger community together. These projects make a tangible difference to the lives of others and the world around us.

OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH UNICEF

Our collaboration with UNICEF challenges students to take action in support of the UN Sustainable Development 2030 agenda.

Every year, our students head to UN headquarters in New York to take part in the Global Challenge, getting involved in seminars, debates, and speaking opportunities. Activities surrounding World Children’s Day teach our students about their rights, how to protect them, and how to advocate for those who may not have a voice. And through our Model United Nations programme, your child will research, debate, and propose solutions to pressing global issues.

OUR GLOBAL EXPEDITIONS

On global and local expeditions, our students support vital community projects, learn about the environment, and become socially aware global citizens.   

 

In Cambodia, our students contribute to construction and education projects that make a real difference in the community. Our Philippines expedition teaches students about marine conservation. And in Kon Tum, which is in the Central Highlands of Vietnam, our students work with Poussieres de Vie to organise games, activities, and educational programmes for local children.
