THE BIS HOUSTON HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA

The British International School of Houston’s High School Diploma offers students flexibility in their academic programme, so they can focus on their strengths. Students may opt for a combination of exams for their desired outcomes. Most courses are at Honours level (in the IGCSE and IB Curriculum), and students will earn graduation credits across their selection of electives, English, science, math, humanities, foreign languages, and art/design.

Requirements for the BIS Houston High School Diploma

Across Years 12 and 13, all students begin the IB curriculum at the British International School of Houston. As part of the High School Diploma option, students will proceed to access the following:

6 IB subjects at Standard Level (SL) or at Higher Level (HL)

Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS)

The requirements for graduation with a BIS Houston High School Diploma are as follows:

4 credits in English

3 credits in Science

3 credits in Math

3 credits in Humanities

2 credits in Foreign Languages

2 credits in Art/Design

7 credits in Electives

There are three terms in the academic year and 1/3 credit is awarded per term.
