BIS HOUSTON'S HERITAGE LANGUAGES IN HIGH SCHOOL

Entry to higher education pathways in home countries often require certain language and subject grades. Where possible, we work with students and families to help them meet these requirements. Our key strategy is to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) as one of our graduating pathways. This programme is globally recognised and enables all students to access routes into colleges and universities in every country worldwide.

IB Diploma First Language Options:
In Years 12 and 13, our students can choose the Language A option in their first language, in addition to Language A in English (Group 1: English Literature or Language and Literature). If a student studies two Language A options, they can graduate with a Dual Language Diploma.

Please note that some Language A Literature courses fall into the IB category of a School Supported Self-Study course (SSST programme), which is at Standard Level only.

Courses are offered based upon demand. BIS Houston is currently offering Language A courses in English and Spanish. All other languages are self-study, and some incur additional costs. For more information, please speak to our IB Coordinator.

Other High School Options:
3 hours per week during High School Enrichment.

We offer internationally recognised language courses in:

Note: There are additional costs for student manuals and exam fees.
