THE INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE CAREER-RELATED DIPLOMA (IBCP)

The International Baccalaureate Career-related Diploma (IBCP) at the British International School of Houston consists of study across three key areas:

1. International Baccalaureate (IB) Subject Choices

• 3-5 Subjects at Standard Level (SL) or Higher Level (HL)

  Students may take subject-specific IB exams at the end of high school. Universities may award college credits based on the exam outcomes

2. The International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP) Core

• Personal and professional skills: In this course, the emphasis is on skills development for the workplace, as these are transferable and can be applied in a range of situations.

• Service Learning: With a research-based approach, students undertake service initiatives related to topics studied previously in their academic disciplines, utilising their skills, understandings, and values developed in these studies.

• A Reflective Project: Through a reflective project, students identify, analyse, critically discuss, and evaluate an ethical issue.

• Language Development: Language development encourages students to improve their proficiency in a language other than their native tongue.
