Our Global Campus Virtual Kilimanjaro Climb is complete!

Kilimanjaro is the worlds tallest freestanding peak, standing at 5895m above sea level it is a fantastic experience. Those students who get the chance to climb Kilimanjaro experience, harsh weather conditions, high altitude and long days off climbing. Could you take on this challenge at home? Our BIS Houston community took the challenge!

The Virtual Kilimanjaro Challenge Climb is now complete!

Over the past 30 days, BISH Students, Parents and Staff have been attempting to virtually climb Africa’s highest mountain, by taking 93,000 steps and climbing 1,900 floors.

There has been great house spirit and teamwork shown, as climbers collect house points on the way to the top.

As with all house challenges, one house has to come out on top. After a last-minute surge, Earth have overtaken Water to win the challenge!

Whether the climbers reached the summit or not, we are very grateful to them for taking part – there have been millions of steps and over 100,000 floors climbed collectively over the past few weeks. We are also thankful to the hard work of Year 12 students, Will and Cole, who have helped to manage the house challenge from start to finish.

We would like to congratulate the following solo participants and family teams who reached the summit within 30 days:

Reaching the summit in air house, congratulations to:

Solos: Carol, Debbie, Petra & Scott J

Families: Thomson

Reaching the summit in earth house, congratulations to:

There are further breakdowns in the attached totals spreadsheet e.g. those achieving the highest 1-day step and floor counts.

Now for a final round up of the house scores.
