Before you know it, summer will be here. Students at BIS Houston are taking the lead to make their summers unforgettable. Our ambitious Nord Anglia Education students have enrolled in a host of impressive educational programs to make the very most of their summer holidays.

Throughout the summer students will be attending different programmes, internships & job shadowing, learning valuable life skills.

Most impressive is the breadth of activities BIS students will be undertaking, eager to continue to develop and hone their skills, and enrich their passions and help prepare them for the future.

Year 12 Eva applied for and was accepted into Stanford Medical Schools SNP Reach Summer Camp to learn more about neurodiversity advocacy and the science behind neurodiversity. This is a massive achievement for Eva as the program is highly competitive – it is a huge honour to be accepted. During the program she will be working with Stanford University professors to learn about neurodiversity and with their assistance develop a program she will bring back to BIS Houston to implement during Neurodiversity Awareness week next year.

Eva will be attending the Stanford Medical School SNP Summer Reach Camp.

Aiden will be studying Bio-Engineering at Rochester University.

Ben with be shadowing a vet virtually.

Mathilde is taking an internship through UCLA.

Iona will be shadowing a physiotherapist.

Maria-Laura will shadow a lawyer in Ecuador.

Maria will be volunteering at a summer camp for kids age 5 to 15 years old, for a week in Michoacán, Mexico and also, taking an internship at Moreau Paris Houston.

Jasmine will be undertaking research at Baylor College of Medicine and Houston Methodist.

Henry, Emma, Elliot will be attending the UNICEF Summit.

Lilianna will attend the UNICEF Summit, volunteer with the Houston Zoo Crew, and travel permitting, joining a young conservationist’s program in Kenya for two weeks.

Abby will be shadowing a psychotherapist.

We look forward to them sharing their insights in the Autumn term after a summer full of enrichment.
