Our BIS Houston Unicef Ambassadors unlocked a host of fundraising activities including 'Principal for the Day’, Blue Bake-Sale, games and pay-to-play house soccer competitions. Paddington Bear arrived from Peru with a host of challenges for our Early Years to Year 2 students. We donated and wore 'blue' to inspire our community to take action in support of children’s rights and provide platforms to raise the voices of children and young people on the issue they care about. BIS Houston is ready to ensure our students will stand up for a more equal, inclusive world!
Our World Children's Day media team, Alexandra, Zoe and Sruthi took over social media channels for the day and Year 10 JJ was Principal for the day, experiencing the role of leading such a great school. From having pastries with staff, learning about marketing, taking a call with our Regional Managing Director, Mr McCall, to helping plan the school menu, it was a busy day for our Principal.
Earlier in the week we kick started our action and welcomed Maryann Wanjau, Community Engagement Associate, from UNICEF USA inspiring and supporting our students during both Primary and Secondary Assemblies and a 1:1 meeting with our Unicef Club Ambassadors.
Take a look on our social media channels for the action from the week of the learning that took place inside and outside of the classrooms and how students at BIS Houston made a difference.
