Secondary School

We have an extensive enrichment programme which offers activities for everyone to become involved in. Whether you enjoy sports, performing arts, culture, well-being, STEAM or service, there will be something for you to enjoy.

We organize our enrichment based around key themes- sports, performing arts, culture, well-being, STEAM and service. During the year we will be encouraging all our students to make selections from each of the themes to get a balanced experience.

The aim of our Enrichment Programme is to:

Our clubs take place during break time (10:15-10:45) lunchtime (12:45-13:45) and after school Monday–Wednesday (16:00-17:00) Thursday and Friday (15:00-16:00).

There's no limit to what you can achieve. Reach for your dreams, try something new, and above all, BE AMBITIOUS.

Students also have the chance to participate in high profile events such as the International Award, the Tanzania ExpeditionYoung Enterprise Award, and Maths and Science Challenges.

Music is important to us at BISB and we encourage students to take up an instrument and get involved with extracurricular music events.

Parents can enrol their children on our peripatetic music programme which offers 1:1 Music tuition on the piano, violin, cello, flute, Slovak folk instrument (fujara), ukulele, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, saxophone, recorder, trombone, trumpet and voice. Lessons run throughout the day and after school and are coordinated by Mrs. Vladimíra Sertlová.   We currently have over 400 children taking part in this program.

A timetable is issued each day with children being rotated so they don’t always miss the same class lesson each week. Lessons take place in the small instrumental rooms on the ground floor music corridor.

Performing arts are important to us at BISB, in Primary school we like to give students plenty of opportunities to present their work to an audience through exhibitions, musical performances, class assemblies and our amazing stage shows.  From Nursery through to Year 6 children are encouraged to perform, it is a pleasure to see the delight they take in applause from an audience, but more importantly, we see the children grow in confidence, develop stage presence and project their voices to the audience and of course they love getting dressed up for a show!

Extended music and dance opportunities are extensive and we have been the most successful school in Nord Anglia Education with regard to Global Campus initiatives and competitions.

All students reflect on and record their progress and each year they work towards achieving different levels of the BISB Diploma. Overall it has been another great year in which our students have been able to further develop their confidence, responsibility, teamwork and leadership skills.
