Every day at BST is packed with innovative experiences. Supported by our world-class teachers, coaches, and pastoral team, your child will do what they love, enjoy the thrill of new discoveries, and immerse themselves in local and global learning opportunities.

This includes life-changing expeditions in Uzbekistan and overseas, as well as The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award. Sport

Taking part in sports and outdoor activities is great for our students’ personal and physical development. We want every child to develop healthy habits from an early age, and regular exercise is the perfect way to stay mentally and physically fit.

At our after-school clubs, our younger children play football, learn to dance, try yoga, and enjoy multi-sport sessions, which develop their gross motor and coordination skills. Our secondary students can play badminton, table tennis and football, and relax and recharge at our mindfulness club. We also offer cheerleading for students who want to try something a bit different!

Arts

We encourage every student to express themselves creatively. Through our world-class performing arts programme with The Juilliard School, aspiring actors and performers learn from specialist instructors and artists in creative spaces, before stepping on to the stage to showcase their talents.

Our creative after-school activities offer a breadth of opportunities, too. Your child can paint, draw, and sculpt at our arts and crafts club, develop their movement and choreography skills in our dance group, and manage stress at our mindful colouring sessions.

Music

Enhanced by our collaboration with The Juilliard School, our music programme promotes cultural literacy and develops vital transferable skills, including creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.

Our talented teachers nurture our students’ skills and build their confidence, encouraging them to learn an instrument, star in class and school performances, and take part in recitals. Your child can also join our young voices group or funkadelic orchestra, sing in our choir, or even play the ukulele.

The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award

We encourage all our students to take part in The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award. Through the Award, each student sets their own goals and challenges, takes part in fun activities, and commits to making a real difference through service and outreach projects.

As they progress through the Award, students become more resilient, learn about themselves, and grow in confidence. Nurturing emotional, physical, and social growth – as well as embedding a sense of social responsibility – the Award is also a valuable addition to our students’ university applications.

Technology

Our innovative approach to STEAM develops students who can think critically, work together, and challenge convention. Your child will ‘create the future’ in our state-of-the-art STEAM Centre, where they’ll solve some of the toughest scientific, technological, and engineering problems facing the world today. In doing so, they’ll learn the skills they need to succeed in the 21st century.

Our students can also join our robotics, design and technology, IT, and Global Campus challenge clubs.

Languages

At BST, your child will learn alongside classmates from across the world, both in school and on our Global Campus platform. Our community is home to rich and diverse cultures, and learning languages contributes to a sense of global citizenship, as well as feelings of mutual understanding and personal fulfilment.

As part of our commitment to a truly international education, we encourage our students to learn multiple languages, including Russian, Uzbek, Spanish, and French. We also run two modern foreign language clubs. Tuesday is dedicated to French and Friday to beginners’ Spanish.

STUDENT WELLBEING

LOOKING AFTER YOUR CHILD

Your child’s health, happiness, and wellbeing are our top priority. We know that students who feel safe and supported will thrive. That’s why we’re proud that our comprehensive approach to student care was recognised by the International School Awards.

Our teachers, staff, and coaches work tirelessly to build strong connections with every student, ensuring they receive the perfect balance of support, attention, and challenge. Our pastoral team have been through bespoke training with the world-renowned Anna Freud Centre, too.

We also run age-appropriate wellbeing sessions that give our students the tools to look after themselves and build resilience. And on our virtual Global Campus platform, students access a wealth of support and resources.

OUR SOCIAL PURPOSE

MAKING THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE

We empower our students to engage with local and global issues, take action that makes a tangible difference, and assume leadership responsibilities within our school family.

While they’re with us, your child will become a socially responsible, thoughtful, and considerate young citizen, supporting community projects like our eco-park clean-up and toy collection for local children. They’ll also take part in enrichment programmes that expand their worldview, including The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award and Model United Nations. And through our collaboration with UNICEF and international charities like the British Council, your child will effect change on a global scale. Our students’ commitment resulted in the school winning the CSR Award at the 2022 AMCHAM Awards.
