BVIS Hanoi entry requirements

The British Vietnamese International School (BVIS) Hanoi is a warm and welcoming global school that’s open to children aged from 2 to 18. We accept applications all year round and new students can start at any time.

Application and supporting documents

After filling in our enquiry form and taking a tour, you’ll need to complete our application form. You’ll also need to send us the following documents:

You’ll then need to pay our application fee (in Vietnamese Dong or by bank transfer).

Entrance assessment

All prospective students will be invited to an age-appropriate entrance assessment (no preparation is required) and interview with a member of our senior team. This helps us to understand how we can best support your child academically, personally, and emotionally.

Early Years Foundation Stage

Please note: we ask that children are out of nappies and can feed themselves before they join us.

Primary (Years 1-3)

Primary (Years 4-6)

Secondary (Years 7-12)

Language assessment

As part of our entry requirements, your child will need to show they’re sufficiently fluent in English and/or Vietnamese. This ensures they can fully access our curriculum and immerse themselves in day-to-day school life.

We may also ask your child to take part in an English as an Additional Language (EAL) review with a member of our EAL team. Should your child need extra help with their English, we can offer a comprehensive programme of support.

Offering and accepting a place

All being well, we’ll offer your child a place within five days of their assessment. You’ll need to formally accept within one week and pay our registration fees.
