Our global programme inspires students to look beyond individual subjects, sparking their curiosity through our hands-on interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving. Guided by the world’s leading STEAM institution, our students take part in challenges and visit MIT on a trip led by experts from the university. Our collaboration also gives our teachers the opportunity to learn from specialists in the world of STEAM, coming up with cutting-edge lessons that inspire our students in the future.
Our collaboration with UNICEF challenges both students and teachers to think about how they can make a meaningful, positive impact on the world around them. This includes embedding the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) in our teaching and learning, using materials developed by UNICEF. Our students also take part in an annual Global Challenge, as well as local outreach opportunities in our community.

An array of artistic opportunities give every child the space, medium, and time to express themselves. Our students can travel the world from the comfort of their classroom at our cultural colouring club, and shape spectacular sculptures at our clay modelling activity. There’s lots of fun to be had at our card design, drawing, calligraphy, and creative Lego clubs, too.
Creativity flourishes at clubs that provide unique opportunities for students to think ‘outside the box’. These include discussing and seeking solutions to pressing global issues at our debate and Model United Nations groups. Your child’s imagination will shine at school production and set design clubs, too.
Life-changing local and overseas trips open our students’ eyes to the wonders of our world, developing vital skills and instilling an enduring love of adventure.
Our children join Nord Anglia students from across the globe on exhilarating expeditions to Tanzania and Switzerland.
Our incredible citizenship trip to Arusha, Tanzania teaches students about global responsibility and sustainability, and the important role we play in looking after our planet. Working with locals on a variety of projects, students develop a sense of independence, increase their understanding of the world, and learn the importance of being part of a community.
The personal challenge expedition in Les Martinets, Switzerland, encourages our students to push themselves to their limits. Set in the beautiful Swiss Alps, students hike through the mountains and take on a series of challenges. Students also learn important skills – like cooking and working together under pressure – while creating treasured memories that will stay with them forever.
Every year, a group of BVIS Hanoi students take part in workshops, seminars, and debates at the United Nations’ (UN) High Level Political Forum and Model UN event in New York, USA. Our students collaborate with staff, contribute to committees, and influence world leaders.
Awe-inspiring overnight trips – both in Vietnam and overseas – enhance the physical, emotional, and social development of our students.
Your child will join their teachers and friends on exciting residential trips that teach them about themselves and others, and bring classroom learning to life. Each age-appropriate experience encourages teamwork, empathy towards others, and builds self-confidence.
In primary, our younger students visit the Thai Hai ecotourism village, where they learn about regional heritage and traditions. They also spend time in Mai Chau, an idyllic rural area surrounded by mountains, and Ba Vi, a 10,000-hectare national park. In secondary, trips range from cultural explorations in Hue to iconic adventures in Ha Long Bay and Cuc Phuong, the oldest national park in Vietnam.
Our students also take part in sporting, academic, and artistic residentials through our membership of FOBISIA. These range from drama festivals and poetry competitions to sporting events across Southeast Asia. They provide a unique opportunity for students to compete against other schools, learn the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship, and create friendships across the globe.
A variety of exciting trips complement our curriculum, providing real-world experiences that inspire a love of learning.
Our early years and primary children connect with nature in local parks and forests, learning about biodiversity, plants, and animals. Their curiosity is piqued on STEAM trips to museums and recycling centres, too.
In secondary, our students make a real difference in our community – and see the tangible impact of their actions – by visiting the Khuong Dinh club for older people and working with a local floating village community. Subject-specific activities – like drama workshops and humanities trips to the Hanoi Botanical Gardens – provide immersive, practical learning experiences. And events organised by our careers and university guidance team, including university fairs and degree option workshops, ensure our students have the time and space to prepare for the future.

In 2022, our comprehensive programme of student support was awarded the Wellbeing Award for Schools by the National Children’s Bureau and Optimus Education. We’re incredibly proud to be the first school in Vietnam to receive this accolade.
Here, healthy habits are carefully embedded into every student’s day. These include our ‘five ways to wellbeing’ morning activities and the ‘daily mile’, where students get moving for 12 minutes.
