Oliver has been a popular with his peers and his teachers since he joined the school. Academically, he has excelled in every area but particularly in the fields of Mathematics, the Sciences and Computing. Always one to hold strong opinions, he achieved great results in TOK and has been known to deliberately provoke his peers into debate by expressing controversialstatements in Humanities lessons which were not always his own opinion! It was a technique guaranteed to get a response.
Using his debating skills to his advantage, it was only natural that Oliver became a leading member of the school’s inaugural MUN Team when it set up in 2018 and he was instrumental during the Junior MUN Conference in 2019 ensuring that the event ran as smoothly as possible.
Oliver is not shy in the sports field either. He and his team mates, have been a huge success in CISA and ACAMIS sports events. He was a member of the LIS Volleyball Team which found glory in Beijing 2019 by winning the ACAMIS Championship for our Division. A remarkable first for our school. In football, I am sure he will be remembered for his sheer guts and determination to achieve a goal for Léman.
In other aspects, Oliver has shown himself to be a genuinely caring young man. He has always supported school charity events and learnt how to teach disadvantaged youngsters to speak English whilst taking part in the Explore China visits.
