Today the football enthusiasts in the Upper Primary school took part in a mini football tournament. By happy coincidence the timing of this event coincided with Children's Day, so I'm sure everyone involved had an enjoyable time! The tournament was played in the spirit of fair play and camaraderie that I would expect from Léman students!

The Léman International School held its Class of 2023 Graduation Ceremony at the Fairmont Hotel on Monday 22nd May. In attendance were the graduates, their families, classmates, and friends, all of whom had come to celebrate the occasion. The graduates were Lynn K. , Mark K., Veronika N., Giovanna N., Frederick P., and Oliver Z..

What a fantastic two days we had at Animals Asia Sanctuary this week with our students in Y 5,6, and 7. Despite some light rainfall, and muddy trekking, an incredible outing emerged from the opportunity to see the Moon Bears, Sun Bears, and also Himalayan Brown Bears, specifically Benji Bear.

Year 8/9 Language Acquisition students recently had the opportunity to explore the famous Jinli Pedestrian Street in Chengdu, China. As part of their language studies, the students have been learning about street foods, food carts, and how foods can influence culture. They've also been working on developing their own business ideas for a food company, including creating menus, recipes, and information books. 

On April 15th, representing the Léman International School Chengdu, Mr. Robert Dolan, the Deputy Head of Primary, attended the Child Friendly organized by the Tianfu New Area. He introduced the inclusive service available to students including EAL, SEN support, well-being and student pastoral service at our school.  Followed, a child-friendly carnival was hosted in Luxelake and it was successfully concluded thanks to the efforts of the Léman community. The event focused heavily on the young generation, as emphasized by the SDGs, and was similar to a bazaar.   

The Pirates of the Curry Bean finale was an amazing event that showcased the talent and hard work of everyone involved. From the amazing children who performed to the dedicated directors, choreographers, and musical directors, everyone worked together to create a truly unforgettable experience. The show was a demonstration to the power of the arts, and how they can bring people together and inspire creativity, teamwork, and personal growth.

Monday, we welcomed over 200 parents to our campus to celebrate our diversity and enjoy the family picnic together with all the students and staff on our lower soccer field. Sitting on the blankets and watching the student performances and bands is a great joy. Families also had the opportunity to do face painting, fly kites, and participate in a range of sports activities such as badminton and tug of war. Our upper primary students even performed a teaser of the Pirate of Curry Bean which will be officially open to guests this Wednesday and Thursday.
