The Léman Lemonade Magazine was initiated in 2018 by our recent Grade 12 students: Xing, Pei Han, Cai Jin, Patrick, Alexandra, Camila and Ester. This year the magazine has been taken over by a new crew of CAS students: Eileen, Joshua, Jasmine, Max, Johnathan, Klara and Xinran and they have just published the 5th Edition. The aim of the magazine as a CAS project is to encourage journalistic writing, and to allow students to show case their work; as well as to provide fun and entertainment to the student body. Each edition takes a different angle and is run completely by the student group during club time and more recently in their own time. The graphics of each magazine has been led by our two Art students Pei Han and Max, and their work they are able to add to their Art portfolios to demonstrate their technical graphic skills.
As well as providing entertainment for the Léman students it also helps the CAS students to develop important life-skills: planning, communication, team-work, proof-reading, respecting deadline, time management, finances, and publishing process. Each Magazine is printed in hard copy 20 times so that each secondary homeroom is able to have a copy. The students must raise the funds to cover printing costs in order to understand the financial implications of the process. In the past they have been able to sell the magazine during school events which again develops their skills in marketing and persuasion.
