We are excited about our first MYP graduating class! Students received their certificates from the IB this week, and the school had a 100% pass rate for their Personal Projects. Special kudos goes to Giovanna, Humfrey, Oliver and Jule, who have continued their IB journey into the Diploma Programme (DP) at the school and are able to transfer the skills they learned from the MYP. The Personal Project is the final summative project in the MYP, and students must earn a “3” to pass the MYP. It is a yearlong project where the students explore and inquire into something that they are interested in learning more about. They must set challenging goals and develop time management, collaboration, communication, research and thinking skills to be successful in the project.
The Personal Project helps students better prepare for the DP and the real world. Some of the projects the school had last year were a book about expats students (available to read in the admissions office), an inclusive mural in the steps leading to the second floor of the cafeteria, a fashion guide for teenagers, and skiing instruction. We are all very proud of our first MYP graduating class, and wish them the best of luck in DP!
