Friday 30th November saw the close to our month long Movember event designed to increase awareness about men’s health issues; as well and to raise funds to support the important research that the Movember Foundation undertake. Many of Leman’s incredibly supportive staff creatively shaped their facial hair into beard, moustaches or both, and paraded their achievements at the final showdown. Students were encouraged to donate 1 yuan to vote for their most impressive moustache. The students of Leman have been incredibly supportive for the entire month long event engaging in the Move..ember initiatives such as the National Children’s Day walkathons and daily dance routines initiated by the grade 5’s – what fun. For the final vote on Friday the students continued to show their support with over 1000 votes being cast.
Our overall winner was our bearded Mr. Bishal followed by our ‘where is my beard’ Mr Kent and in 3rd place Mr Filipe who sported a fine South American number.
I would like to give a special thank you to three students who were fully committed to the Move..ember event and raised 800 yuan between them. These students were Hedy Deng in G3A, Zivie Zhang in SKA and Alex Wang in G4B – Well done you guys. There is a small prize coming your way as a thank you for your commitment.
Thank you to all those who supported the Movember events with a super and extra special thank you to the Grade 10 students who gave up their lunch time to collect the votes. They were in excellent spirits and made the voting a lot of fun – particularly with their stick-on-moustaches.
The total raised was an amazing 1707 yuan (1941.19HKD) which has been sent to the Movember Foundation. Click here to see the official receipt.
