The EAL has been doing a lot this last semester. We have focused on reading non-fiction texts about animals and the human body. We are learning to find information in our texts, citing that information, and presenting the information to an audience. Some are even challenged to write information texts using descriptive vocabulary.
On a less serious note, we have tried to build drums and paper airplanes. That paper airplane contest was really fun. Yet the biggest event was when all the students made ice cream together in the cafeteria. It was cold, sloppy and oh so good.
This month the EAL department will be testing all the students to see measure their language growth.
Have a great summer.
