YAY! We’ve accomplished the first week of school and the kids seem delighted! Numerous of things are going on at school; children adapting to their new classes and classmates as well as teachers trying to figure them out.
The LFA has been diligently working trying to get everything in place for a year full of excitement. Our mantra for this school year is: That we should show our children we care for them as students, by our school involvement. That’s exactly what our agenda and goals are wrapped around for this year. That being said, we welcome all parents to participate. The LFA Committee would be thrilled to have you form part of our team.
Some parents have expressed concern with the lack of WeChat: nothing to worry about! The LFA will continue to use it; as a means to communicate our events and more. For the moment, we are still trying to sort it out. If your class still doesn’t have a WeChat group and you wish to be the LFA Representative for your class, please email your teacher. Provide your WeChat and ask they share in your class Seesaw pages for other parents to join. Then, forward an email to LFA@LIS-CHENGDU.COM so we can put your name down as the parent volunteer. We are also currently seek a grade 10 parent to help distribute our news.
Our earliest event will be our First Morning Coffee, held at the Ascott to introduce the LFA and key members of our school. More events will be published, so please stay tuned in.
Also, we’d like to share that we have a pre-loved uniform room in the 2nd floor of the main building next to the student’s kitchen. Anyone is welcome to help themselves; we just ask for a small donation. And if you are moving or your children have outgrown their clothes (still in good condition), you are welcome to donate it there. We just ask that it be washed first.
Finally, if you have not stopped by the school, I must inform you that many updates were completed this summer and our school is looking ALIVE! We should all be proud. The LFA would like to thank Eric, facilities manager, who worked tirelessly managing the many projects during the summer break.
MARK YOUR CALENDAR: MORNING COFFEE ON SEPTEMBER 5TH AT ASCOTT, 10AM.
Have a pleasant weekend
