The Big Draw 2015

27 October 2015

The Big Draw is the world's biggest drawing festival from The Campaign for Drawing. With the aim to get everyone drawing, the Big Draw festival runs throughout October each year.

Over 1000 organisations across twenty six countries participate annually and I was very proud to host a Big Draw event at the British Vietnamese International School, Hanoi on October 10th.

It was wonderful to see so many parents, teachers and students come together to celebrate the skill of, and passion for, drawing. We worked on three beautiful communal pieces of work, using our imagination, creativity and mark-making skills. Drawing with your children is a wonderfully fun, easy and inexpensive activity that not only develops children’s fine motor skills but also helps them to understand the world, to think, feel, shape and communicate their ideas. It is accessible and invaluable - in education and everyday life. I was thrilled to see such enthusiasm from everyone who participated and took time out of their busy weekend to make art and support our event together.

This event would not have been so successful if it had not been for all the people who participated, brought their children along and helped me run and prepare this fabulous day. I would like to thank everyone who helped and took part and I encourage everyone to keep drawing at home!
