Mr Nicholas West Weekly Update 26th June

26 June 2015

It has just simply been the most fantastic final week of term with your children this week.

  • BVIS Hanoi Primary update 26 June
  • BVIS KS2 disco night
  • BVIS Year 6 celebration
  • BVIS Primary Prize Giving 2014-2015
  • Robin Hood production (20)

Below are just a few highlights:

KS2 Disco – as I suspected your children were amazing in this new environment and loved dancing the night with their friends or having their nails painted. The children were really great company and we will be holding more of these events in the future for both younger and older children. We have to thank your generosity too as the event raised almost 18 million VND for the Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation – on their behalf thank you very much.

Y6 Party – this year we are transferring 36 children to start their career in BVIS Hanoi’s secondary school, our loss but most definitely their gain. We have loved, cared for and taught many of these children for two years and we are really going to miss them. Getting the opportunity to spend Monday evening bowling and eating with them was great fun and we will never forget these characters. Don’t worry, we will be checking up on them lots next year to check they are getting better and better as they mature.

Prize Giving – we celebrate every child’s achievements throughout the year but it is nice just once a year to give out prizes and certificates to those who have stood out, those who have endeavored always to do their best and those children who have been tremendously successful this year. These children are different every year as we all grow up, mature and show confidence at different ages. No-one should be disappointed after a prize-giving but should feel, like I know we all do, extremely proud of our achievements as a new but strong school with very secure foundations.

Robin Hood – the highlight of the week for me as all KS2 children got on stage and did a brilliant production of ‘Robin Hood’, based around a legendary character who took money from the rich to give to the poor. There were amazing costumes and over 30 speaking parts.  How the team put it together in such a few short weeks, I do not know!  We are all immensely proud. Thank you to everyone who contributed.

We hope you all have a wonderful holiday and we look forward to seeing you in August, thank you for your continuous support.
