For everyone, this has been a very full first half, and it is easy to pass over with short memories how far we have come in a few short weeks.
We always strive to give a rich experience to all our students, whatever their year group, interests and style of learning. From the use of Tapestry in recording Early Years development, the entry/exit points in Primary, the trips, student project work, the university visits, all the sporting and artistic endeavours, the introduction of International A levels with a range of new subjects on offer, the development of the new Primary Campus building into a vibrant learning space, the successful introduction of a new Head of Secondary – all these take time and care in planning and in execution. My very grateful thanks to everyone involved, providing such compelling evidence for a vibrant, growing school.
As parents may remember, the introduction of Nord Anglia and CIS surveys has sought to give you a voice, in just the same way that we are giving voice to student opinion through the Student Councils. We always listen and seek where possible to act on suggestions and comments designed to enhance the outcomes and experiences for students and families. Accordingly, we will be introducing a campaign entitled, ‘You said…We did’ that helps us listen to and track the issues you feel are foremost in your minds. I share Nick West’s thanks to the parents who joined the Parent Group and gave such helpful feedback. The newly designed, slimmer Vue Point that can be found on the website also provides an opportunity for parental feedback as well as on our website. The ever-helpful CHQ also provides excellent communication channels with parents, and this has recently been introduced to help us keep you better informed. In the coming months, we will also be conducting a review of all of our communications so that we can most effectively meet your needs whilst ensuring that the essential messages are the ones you need to hear and do hear.
Effectively, parents and school are working in unison for the betterment of your children. We need you. You need us. Together we are better, stronger, more effective. Thank you as ever for your excellent support.
I wish you all a wonderful break together with your families and look forward to seeing you again soon. Parents may like to know that I am away from school in the week immediately after half term on the Nord Anglia Senior Leadership Team Conference. I will be returning to school on Monday 31st October.
