I am delighted to welcome everyone to a new year, full of learning and enjoyment, as we embark upon the academic year for 2017-18. Yesterday, we had the pleasure of meeting all of our new children and their families as they joined our Orientation Day last Tuesday. On Wednesday, everyone returned to an action-packed day of new experiences and we all made lots of new friends. We hope that you, as parents, will make new friends too, as we invite you to join us for our ‘Meet the Teacher’ events. This will be an opportunity to meet other parents who have children in the same year group as you and also to meet your teacher in a more informal setting. Our Language Department and specialist teachers will be there too, so it promises to be a great occasion to develop our community and its understanding.
You now should have your child’s diary for class communication and the e-mail addresses of your child’s class teachers. These are also in the Primary Parents’ Handbook on the website. Please do first go to either class teacher if you have any questions. There are other events we would like to give you prior notification about so you can plan ahead. For Years F3-6, ECA’s or after school clubs, which run on a Monday and Thursday, will start on Monday 11th September and run for ten weeks. More information will be sent to you from our CHQ system next week for you to make the choices for your children. We also look forward each year with great anticipation to our Moon Festival celebrations, to which you are all invited. The EYFS celebration will take place in the morning of Friday 29th September and Primary in the same afternoon. We do hope you can join us and more information will follow about this nearer the time.
On behalf of our entire Primary staff, I would like to once again welcome you all to the new year and look forward to developing stronger relationships together to continually improve the learning for your children.
Mr Nicholas West – Head of Primary
