What a great week we have had. There have been a high number of parent information sessions – all of the Key Stage Parent meetings as an early introduction to life in Secondary, as well as a lovely social and informative event for Primary and Early Years parents getting to know each other and the school better. Thank you to all those parents who attended and made the events a success.
Effective communication from both sides ensures that the gap between expectation and reality is as small as possible. This is very much a two way process and with our two differing cultures, we do want to take time to understand and communicate as effectively as possible, orienting our community not just to hear but to listen and appreciate our direction of travel for the students. We want to understand more your concerns and your centre of gravity. As John Lydgate famously said: “You can please some of the people all of the time; you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”. You will always have issues and it requires patient understanding on both sides.
This week we launch our You Said we did campaign. You can find the rationale here and also a summary sheet of the strengths that we are building on. We would be very happy to hear from you as we move this campaign forward.
Our first item in this campaign – and we will look to have news for you each week on a variety of topics arising from the Parental Survey 2017 - is Secondary Catering and Dining. You will be able to find information about our new caterers and also the developments in its first phase as well as plans for its next phase during this half term.
We have had some lovely comments back from Parents who attended these events. Do please feel free to work with us, to share your ideas , to help us grow together. There are plenty of opportunities and we welcome our collective partnership.
Have a great weekend ahead.
