On 14th November, we were privileged to welcome Prof. Paul Jensen, Deputy Dean in the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Melbourne, to deliver a masterclass in ‘Innovation and Public Policy’. Our students witnessed first-hand the format and atmosphere of a university lecture, helping them appreciate what to expect when they enrol in their course at university.
Going to university is such an important and exciting aspect of our students’ future. During Years 12 and 13 that dream fast becomes a reality. Our 6th Form students are busy researching potential universities and courses to apply to, from an overwhelmingly diverse choice. The British Vietnamese International School, Hanoi provides our students the opportunities to meet representatives from world-class universities.

Our students witnessed first-hand the format and atmosphere of a university lecture, helping them appreciate what to expect when they enrol in their course at university.
As importantly, they also saw how a potentially complicated topic can be brought to life and made captivating. This was an example of not only knowledge acquisition but knowledge application, to real life scenarios. There was enthusiastic and notable participation from the students, focusing on the relevance of patenting inventions in order to safeguard business. We, and the students, are indebted to Prof. Jensen for delivering such a fascinating lecture.
