Secondary Weekly Update 25/01/2019 from Mr. Nick Lee

We celebrated two terrific events this week.

On Thursday, it was our annual inter-house Sports Day - always a great occasion. This year it was held at the Sân bóng Bộ Công an (The Ministry of Public Security stadium)  and the format of the day was slightly different to previous years. In order to try and get every student participating in the day, the PE department planned for football and basketball competitions, as well as the usual track and field athletics. It meant that we saw a day of terrific sporting competition, with very high participation rates from the students.

The Basketball was won by Dalat and the Football champions were Hanoi - but the overall  event, including the Athletics,  was won by Hue - congratulations to them. My thanks go to Ms Alicia Smith and the PE team for organising a very special day which will be remembered for a long time to come.

On Friday, we celebrated Tet with our annual Tet assembly. I say this every year, but this was the best Tet celebration we have ever had. A wonderful celebration of the origins of Tet and the animals used in the zodiac. It was full of song, humour and celebration. My thanks, as ever, to all of the students who took part, and spent so long rehearsing for it - and of course, to our brilliant Vietnamese teachers for putting so much effort in to the organisation of this production.

Just a reminder that we are holding our Tet fair on Saturday from 9.00am - 12.30pm and this year it will be hosted at our Secondary Campus. This is always a lovely community event that celebrates this very special time of year - I hope as many of you as possible will be able to attend and join in the festivities.

Please also note that we will be finishing school for the Tet holiday at 3.05pm on Wednesday 30th January.
