Dr. Nici Wood is the new Head of Primary at BVIS. She was born and educated in the UK, graduating from Aberdeen University with a degree in Microbiology. Following her graduation, she undertook a research project in the field of Molecular Biology and was ultimately awarded a PhD from Imperial College, London. Nici then went on to complete a PGCE at the University of Northumbria, UK.
Nici began her teaching career in 1993 and has spent the last 25 years working in a number of schools within the UK and Internationally. She was a founding Head teacher for Braeburn Garden Estate School, part of the Braeburn Group of schools in Nairobi Kenya, before moving to the British International School of Riyadh in Saudi Arabia as Head of Primary. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, she nurtured the students and staff across the two school sites of this large, thriving, British Curriculum school, creating an enabling environment for all students to maximise their progress. Nici is a level 2 qualified BSO Inspector and has participated as a Team Member on CIS school accreditation visits.
In her spare time, Nici likes spending time with her family, reading, swimming, playing the drums and travelling.
