Kaye Meakin

Art Teacher

BA (Hons) Primary Education with added QTS, Huddersfield University, Lockside, Huddersfield, UK.

Kaye has most recently been working at our sister school, BIS, Hanoi where she was Year 2 Teacher and Literacy Leader for 4 years. Prior to that, she taught in Doha, Qatar and Hyde, Greater Manchester.

Kaye is thoroughly looking forward to a new challenge at BVIS and is excited to further raise the profile of the arts within the Primary School. She enjoys working with EAL children and one of her passions lies in building confidence in speaking and listening through the arts. She has written four productions tailor made for EAL children in her previous post and she is passionate about raising self-esteem through this genre of education. She hopes to emulate this success with the wonderful children at BVIS in her new role.

Kaye is also passionate about sport, particularly football and she enjoys coaching children to a high level, something she aims to help with and continue at BVIS.

Outside of school, Kaye enjoys sport, dancing, writing and illustrating children’s stories, travelling with her husband and walking her two lovely puppies, Humphrey and Rupert.
