Jaco is joining us from Nord Anglia Al Khor in Qatar where he led the Juilliard Programme and taught music in both Primary and Secondary. He qualified with a Bachelor of Music and PGCE from South Africa and holds a diploma in vocal performance from ABRSM in the UK.
From an early age, he loved music and the ability to express ideas through sound. Jaco’s teaching philosophy promotes an active and practical learning environment. He enjoys the creative process and to help students develop their personalities through music.
Prior to moving to Qatar, he taught in South Africa for more than eight years at a Performing Arts School teaching KS3 & KS4. Here, he also conducted the girls’ choir and a vocal group that competed in the 2018 World Choir Games, was manager of the Arts Centre and musical director for productions.
In his spare time, Jaco enjoys socialising with friends, reading, travelling, and doing yoga. He is excited to join BVIS Hanoi and to continue inspiring students to grow and be ambitious in everything they set their minds to.
