OUR SECONDARY SCHOOL CURRICULUM

At LCIS, our curriculum enables secondary students to achieve academic excellence and continue to develop their capabilities in two or more languages. Secondary students can eventually choose to follow a single language or bilingual IB Diploma, strengthening their application for top universities in Switzerland and abroad.

Our secondary curriculum is divided into two stages: the Lower Secondary Curriculum for ages 11 to 14, and the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) for ages 14 to 16.

The Lower Secondary Curriculum challenges students to develop their knowledge and understanding in key subject areas while also building core competencies to become resilient, independent learners. This provides the perfect springboard for the renowned IGCSE curriculum, which further nurtures students’ creative thinking, enquiry, and problem-solving skills. In addition to compulsory subjects, our secondary students choose from a wide range of additional IGCSE subjects, including languages such as German and Spanish.
